Dale met with the new director of the Arnot Art Museum – Diana Koppel  734-3697 ext 123

She would like to meet with ERAS and will come to the November 7th meeting.  We hope to have as many members as possible present for this meeting.  They did not discuss any financial issues, but did discuss the palette award exhibit.  We will be able to hang on Dec 7 the opening will be Sunday December 14, and she would like it to remain until mid January.

Membership in ERAS was discussed, we should emphasize the benefits of  associate members.  Attendance at workshops, meetings, demonstrations and they do not have to exhibit, some choose to simply support ERAS.  Exhibiting members must exhibit at least 3 times to participate in the Palette Awards.  We all represent the whole group when we exhibit and Jeannine will address the meeting on Friday.  More exhibiting members will be encouraged to participate in this aspect of being an exhibiting member, we continue to be the fine arts group in the region.

Concerns have been expressed about some of the exhibiting locations, we discussed the need for responsibility in the various locations and the understanding that there are different regulations at different locations and we should consider those when we sign up.  Jeannine will have a handout for everyone at the meeting.

The Star Gazette is once again listing our exhibits in the Time Out section.  The workshop schedule will also be in the paper.

Dale would like a program on permanency of our artwork.  Theresa suggested someone from the art shop in corning.

Jeannine has many art magazines to share.  Dee suggested she bring them to Chapel Park and leave them on the bookcase there for people to borrow.

Doree would like the minutes of the previous meeting read at our meetings so that those who do not have computers can hear/ see what was in the minutes.

Meeting adjourned at 1:45

Respectfully submitted by Betsy Kent

PS. From Jackie:  I can make copies of the minutes also…no problem.
